Donna Mahaffey, O.D.
Dr. Mahaffey has been practicing since 1994. She is from Kirtland, Ohio, which is a suburb on the east side of Cleveland. She has a biology degree from The University of Toledo, and a Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She began her career at E.B. Brown at Franklin Park and Foundation Park in 1994, then went to Boardman, Ohio, in March of 1995 to work at Northeast Ohio Eyecare. She came back to Toledo in October of 1995 to start her own practice, Northwest Ohio Eyecare, which was then located in the back of Lenscrafters. She was at that location for 13 years, then opened her current location at 5550 W. Central Avenue. She has two children, Ethan and Sophie. Her husband, Ty, is an attorney in Sylvania. She also has an English mastiff named Kya and her daughter Sophie’s puppy, Isley. Dr. Mahaffey loves to work with her patients, and has many that have been with her for 25 years!
Leslie
Leslie has been with our office for some time. She started in pretest, but now works throughout the office, especially at the front desk and in billing. She has been attending the University of Toledo and will soon graduate and leave us for the Southern College of Optometry. Such dedication! She loves to travel and is always willing to give a helping hand with deciding between our wonderful frame selection.
Jacob
Jacob is the newest member to our team and is studying nursing at the University of Toledo. He mainly works in pretest and frame selection.
Jessica
Jessica is our accountant. She has been with us for several years, too, and is in charge of insurance payments and billing.
Sophie
Sophie is one of Dr. Mahaffey’s favorites, as she is her daughter! She is a graduate of St. Ursula Academy High School, and helps out at the office many days of the week when she is not working on her degree at Owens. She makes many of our in-house glasses, as well.
Mackenzie
Mackenzie has been with us for a year now. She is working on pretesting and patient insurance billing here, while going to college full time at The University of Toledo! She loves to help patients!
Rachael
Rachael has been at our office for almost a year. She is often in our pretesting area, and is most often doing quality control on our incoming orders of glasses and contacts. She loves taking martial arts classes in town and is a student at Owens.
Jen
Jen has been here for seven years. She is also a preschool teacher at a local school and mainly does our ordering and billing. She has a very warm personality and has two young men that graduated from local High School, St. Francis de Sales.
